The Congress is in a bind over Telangana and is employing the wait and watch policy. The Cabinet has deferred a decision on the Telangana Draft Bill for now.
The government says it needs two to three more days to finalise the draft Bill. The Group of Ministers has met twice this week already.
However, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde insists though that the Bill will be tabled by the end of this session.
This comes as Seemandhra MPs are demanding that Hyderabad be made a union territory with equal revenue sharing between the two new states. The Telangana debate disrupted Parliament on Thursday as well, following which both houses have been adjourned for the day.
A TDP MP also gave a notice for a no-confidence motion.
