BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law and former Chennai Super Kings team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan was on Monday indicted on charges of betting by the Justice Mukul Mudgal committee.
The committee, formed by the Supreme Court to inquire into spot-fixing and illegal betting in the Indian Premier League last year, had submitted its report earlier on Monday.
The report states that the conflict of interest on Srinivasan holding post of BCCI chief and ownership of an IPL franchisee is a serious issue and needs to be considered by court.
The report also states that allegations of betting and spot-fixing against other IPL franchise co-owners, Rajasthan Royals's Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty, needed to be further investigated
