The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) of Britain has approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to verify allegations that two Indians were bribed 3 million pounds (more than Rs 30 crore) by a private company to bag a Delhi Metro contract.

Alstom, the multinational corporation named by SFO, provided train control and signaling systems for Delhi Metro. "Yes we have received a letter from SFO, UK. We are looking into the allegations," CBI director Ranjit Sinha told.

Officials did not disclose whether the two individuals who were allegedly bribed, are DMRC officials. CBI has been asked to investigate whether the two received bribe money.
