In yet another controversy generating remark, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Wednesday compared BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to a 'nursery kid'. "Modi's claim of a clean chit in 2002 riots is like a nursery child claiming to have a PHD," Khurshid said.

"If a child in nursery gets good marks, and then the child considers himself to be a doctor and goes around claiming to have a PHD. How can that happen?" Khurshid mocked.

Raking up the issue of the 2002 riots, Khurshid said, "In Gujarat, the incidents that happened when he (Modi) was the Chief Minister. Around 170 people have been given life imprisonment in connection with that. Maya Kodnani was his own minister."

Reacting sharply to Khurshid's remarks, BJP has hit back at Congress and called the External Affairs Minister's statements 'childish'. "Salman Khurshid himself sounds childish while saying this," said Udit Raj of BJP.
