Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid Syed Bukhari on Friday announced his support for Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Bukhari said secular forces must unite to defeat those who are polarizing polls.

The Shahi Imam also appealed for support to Trinamool Congress candidates, praising the role of Mamata Banerjee.

He also announced support for RJD in Bihar as it has allied with Congress for the general election.

Shahi Imam slammed Samajwadi Party for failing to protect Muslims during Muzaffarnagar riots.

"Our biggest concern is secularism," he said.
