Acting on an Intelligence Bureau report that claimed that NGOs were derailing India's economic growth, the Home Ministry has sent a questionnaire to Greenpeace asking it to explain its foreign funding and its spending pattern including the causes on which the fund is spent.

A ministry official said all NGOs named in the IB report would face a review of the clearances to them under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act of 2010 (FCRA).
