BJP's national general secretary Varun Gandhi said that law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh was bad and situation was reminiscent of Emergency days when whosoever raised voice against Government was arrested. He said in a statement issued on Friday after his visit to Moradabad jail where he met BJP activists and workers who were arrested for protesting against administration's decision to remove loudspeaker from a temple.
"These people were arrested because they raised people's voice and objected to the partisan policy of the administration. This reminds us of Emergency days when innocent people were arrested because they criticised the then Government," he said and added that he would give his report to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh
