The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to lift the ban on e-rickshaws although there will be another hearing over the issue in the court on Monday. "Many guidelines were presented and the court will try to finalize the rules as soon as possible. We asked for relaxation until rules are decided. Court will hear the case on Monday again," said Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Pinky Anand.
"There were a few queries put forward by the court and if we give the response then they will run it. There were no rules for e-rickshaw but now it is under the process. We also suggested that the Delhi police can ensure public safety and can regulate where the e-rickshaws will run and its fare," she added. The Delhi High Court had directed the state government to stop e-rickshaws from plying on city roads which had been met with resistance and protests from E rickshaw owners.
