India's new Prime Minister Narendra Modi shook hands with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif as both began historic talks in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The meeting is being held at Hyderabad House and is also being attended by Sushma Swaraj, India's new Minister for External Affairs.
In September last year, Sharif had held a meeting with then prime minister Manmohan Singh in New York.
