Congress MP Pradip Bhattacharya, who is also Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs has written letters to the Centre requesting it to provide protection and security for the Indian enclave dwellers, so that the exchange process was implemented smoothly. He has written two separate letters to Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, apprising them of the situation in Indian enclaves in Bangladesh. "I have written two letters to Sushma Swarajji and Rajnath Singhji informing them about the insecurity those living in Indian enclaves in Bangladesh are feeling because of some suspicious activities going on there in collusion with land mongers (brokers)," Bhattacharya told reporters.
