Hours after NewsX exposed the aftermath of the communal rampage that ripped through a town in Malda the West Bengal CM has reacted with shocking non-chalice. Without ordering a probe and without visiting the site even once Mamata Banerjee has denied any communal angle to the violence. The verdict flies in the face of evidence on the ground. Not only was the violence a result of a call by prominent Muslim groups in Malda to protest inflammatory remarks by a Hindu Mahasabha leader in far off Uttar Pradesh but there is visible evidence of the mob targeting members of the majority community. Additionaly NewsX has accessed posters issued by a socio-religious Muslim Group that called for a Mass gathering to protest against the up based Hindu Maha Sabha leader's protest. This call to gather was widely publicised throughout the district. The question now needs to be asked. Is Mamata Banerjee giving a clean chit because she is playing to a votebank ahead of an upcoming round of Assembly Elections?
