South Korea appears to be working hard behind-the-scenes to keep the inter-Korean peace drive on track... despite last month's disappointing summit in Hanoi.
Seoul's top security adviser Chung Eui-yong reportedly traveled to China last weekend for a meeting with the country's top diplomat Yang Jiechi.
Sources say the two discussed the North Korea-U.S. summit and possible follow-up measures.
Chung was reportedly due to hold a phone conversation with his U.S. counterpart John Bolton on Monday evening, Korea time.
Earlier Bolton told ABC News he will be speaking with Chung over the latest satellite images that show the regime could be rebuilding its missile launch site.
The Blue House has yet to confirm whether the call happened.
