Partly allowing the appeal of cricketer S Sreesanth, the Supreme Court today set aside the life ban imposed by the Board of Control of Cricket in India(BCCI) on him for indulging in spot-fixing during 2013 Indian Premier League.The Court has directed the disciplinary committee of BCCI to take a decision on the quantum of punishment within 3 months from today.Significantly, the Court has not disturbed the findings of guilt made by the disciplinary committee against the Kerala based cricketer.

भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (बीसीसीआई) द्वारा लगाए गए अजीवन प्रतिबंध के खिलाफ तेज गेंदबाज एस श्रीसंत द्वारा दायर की गई याचिका पर सर्वोच्च अदालत ने फैसल सुना दिया है। अदालत ने श्रीसंत को इस मामले पर राहत दी है।सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने कहा कि बीसीसीआई को किसी भी मामले में क्रिकेटर पर अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई करने का अधिकार होता है लेकिन श्रीसंत को दी गई सजा अधिक है। कोर्ट ने कहा है कि बी सीसीआई उसकी सजा पर फिर से विचार करे और इस पर 3 महीने में निर्णय ले। बीसीसीआई ने श्रीसंत पर आईपीएल-2013 में स्पॉट फिक्सिंग का दोषी पाए जाने पर अजीवन प्रतिबंध लगाया था।
