South Korea's foreign minister and her Libyan counterpart will meet in the coming hours for talks at the government complex in Seoul.
Kang Kyung-wha and Mohamed Taha Siala are expected to discuss issues surrounding the Korean peninsula and the Middle East and share ideas on fostering more cooperation in the future.
However, the top agenda will be the abduction of a Korean man alongside three Filipino men in Libya last year.
The men have been held captive by an unidentified armed group for almost eight months.
Kang is expected to ask for the Libyan government's best efforts so the abductee can return home safely as soon as possible.
