This is the touching moment an animal rescuer saves a peacock from a 40-feet well in South India.
A resident of Perambra village near Calicut in Kerala saw that a peacock had fallen into a dry well early this week. He assumed that it would fly to the surface.
On March 20, he was passing through the well and looked inside out of curiosity and was surprised to find the bird still inside.
He informed Santosh Kumar, a volunteer with People for Animals, who rushed to the spot with his friends.
Santosh got down the well with the help of a rope and managed to get a hold of the terrified bird. He then put it in a bag, climbed up and hauled it up.
The peacock was later freed in a nearby area where many birds live.
