A polar bear cub has taken its very first steps into the outside world after nearly four months spent in a den with its mother.
Zookeepers at Tierpark Berlin breathed a sigh of relief as the quickly growing cub emerged with her nine-year-old mum Tonja.
The sprightly young bear wasted no time in getting to know her new surroundings as she clambered over rocks and splashed in a large pool when she went outside on March 16.
