Despite the U.S. Special Counsel's report that found no evidence of Trump or his campaign colluding with the Russians.... the battle is not over yet... with the Democrats demanding the un-redacted release of the full report.
Hong Yoo reports.
Congressional Democrats in the U.S. are requesting the release of the entire report by special counsel Robert Mueller.... and not just the short summary that was given to Congress by Attorney General William Barr.
They don't agree on much, but President Trump said on Monday.... the release of the Special Counsel's full report wouldn't bother him at all,... if Barr chooses to do so.
Watchers say, the four-page summary was clearly not what the Democrats were expecting and now they are plotting a strategy for their own investigations into alleged obstruction of justice and Russian election interference.
Barr's document said,.... Mueller found no evidence that Trump's campaign (QUOTE-UNQUOTE) "conspired or coordinated" with Russia to defeat Hillary Clinton.
However, in the latter part of the letter, which addresses allegations that Trump tried to obstruct justice, the report summary does not conclude the president committed a crime, but it also does not exonerate him.
Barr said,.... the special counsel did not draw a conclusion as to whether the president committed an obstruction of justice.
President Trump who had spent months railing against former Justice Department officials and had described Mueller as "conflicted," "disgraced" and a "liar" has also changed his tune,... saying Mueller has acted honorably.
