Just a couple of days before the country celebrates the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the provisional government,... President Moon Jae-in praised the work done by the Korean people in coming this far.
Speaking during a weekly Cabinet meeting,... the president said the Republic of Korea's provisional government is the root of the nation,... and the driving force that established our nation today.
"National accomplishments made under the name of the Republic of Korea over the past century need to be completed through the livelihoods of the people. National achievements and mistakes made with the people's blood and sweat should all return to the people of Korea."
He said only by returning the accomplishments to the people,... can the people of Korea become the true owners of the nation and help the nation grow as a whole.
He promised to tackle economic polarization and create an inclusive nation where all people prosper.
The president also sent out his word of support to the victims of the wildfire in Gangwon-do Province that resulted in one death and left hundreds homeless.
