문 대통령, 임시정부 100주년 맞아 '국가적 성취는 국민의 삶으로 완성돼야'

President Moon Jae-in says the building of Korea as a nation is not yet complete, vowing to ensure equal opportunities for everyone in order to reach that goal.
His remarks come ahead of the centennial of the establishment of Korea's provisional government, which falls on Thursday.
We begin with Arirang's senior political correspondent, Shin Se-min.
Ahead of the 100th anniversary of the provisional government of Korea,... President Moon Jae-in praised the work done by the Korean people since then in making the country what it is today.
Speaking during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday morning,... President Moon said the provisional government is the origin of today's Republic of Korea.
The provisional government was set up a century ago on April 11th in China,... while Korea was still under the colonial rule of Japan,... and the president today said the country had come a long way in the hundred years since.
"The Republic of Korea's Provisional Government is the origin of the nation, and the driving force that helped make what is now the Republic of Korea.
President Moon highlighted the country's accomplishments,... becoming the world's eleventh largest economy,... and the seventh country with a population of more than 50-million people that also has a per capita income of over 30-thousand U.S. dollars.
But he said,... the country still has further to go.
"National accomplishments made under the name of the Republic of Korea over the past century need to be completed by improving the livelihoods of the people. National achievements were made possible with the people's blood and sweat, which should all return to the people of Korea."
The president added he will do everything he can to build a fair and just nation,... which does not force people to make sacrifices.
He promised to tackle economic inequality and polarization and move forward to create an inclusive nation where all people can prosper.
"Looking towards the future of Korea, the president promised to peacefully denuclearize the Korean Peninsula,... adding that his upcoming summit with President Trump this week will help lead to an early resumption of Pyeongyang-Washington talks."
