Baltimore's Chris Davis Sets
MLB Hitless Record The Orioles first baseman has now gone
49 straight at-bats without a hit. After failing to record a hit in his
47th plate appearance on Monday night, Davis broke a record set in
2011 by Eugenio Velez. In addition to this unfortunate record, Davis set another one last year with his .168 batting average. That is the lowest in MLB history for a hitter with enough qualified at-bats during a full season. Orioles SP Andrew Cashner, via ESPN Davis, who joined Baltimore in 2011,
slugged an MLB-high 53 homers in 2013. He led the league with 47 home runs two seasons later.
