A 2,500-year-old mummy of a high priest has been discovered at an ancient cemetery south of Cairo.
A group of Egyptologists opened three sealed sarcophagus from the 26th dynasty, one of which contained the well-preserved mummy of a powerful priest, wrapped in linen and decorated with a golden figure depicting an ancient Egyptian goddess.
The two other tombs contained a female mummy decorated with blue beads and a father in a family tomb.
The Egyptologists discovered the burial site a year and half ago and the excavation is continuing as they expect more tombs to be found there.
