Authorities believe a local radical Islamic group is behind the deadly attacks that ripped through churches and hotels on Easter Sunday.
Another explosion occurred near the capital... with the government declaring a nationwide emergency.
Kim Ji-yeon has the latest.
Another blast exploded near a church in Sri Lanka's capital of Colombo on Monday... renewing fears among the population... after a deadly attack in a series of explosions set off almost simultaneously on Easter Sunday.
Cited as the deadliest incident the country has witnessed since its civil war in 2009... Sunday's attack have left an estimated 290 people dead and at least 500 injured.
Among the fatal victims, at least 35 were foreign nationals.
The Sri Lankan government have ordered a state of emergency starting midnight of Monday.
At least 24 people have been arrested... while local police say they've found 87 bomb detonators at a bus station in Colombo.
The government pointed to a local radical Islamic terror organization, N-T-J... for the attacks... and said the extremists may have received financial support from other terrorist groups.
The prime minister of Sri Lanka apologized for intelligence failures... saying security services had been aware of relevant information prior to the attacks... and said the government is looking into why adequate precautions were not taken on time to prevent such tragedy.
The international community condemned the attacks... including Pope Francis who cited it as "cruel violence" in which the perpetrators have targeted innocent people celebrating Easter.
President Moon Jae-in in a Facebook message sent his condolences to the Sri Lankan people... saying he couldn't believe the tragedy... that resulted in so many innocent lives lost... adding that in no circumstances one should be targeted due to one's faith or belief.
