3rd International Dance Festival:

The ICCR is organising the 3rd International Dance Festival, showcasing performances by foreign artistes, who have achieved high level of proficiency in Indian Classical dance. The first International Dance Festival was held during 2-4 August 2010 in New Delhi.

These artistes have been doing commendable work in promoting Indian dance and culture abroad. Most of them have learnt advanced level of classical dance in India either at a dance institution or with a Guru and have taken on a significant personal commitment to disseminate their knowledge in Indian as well as in their home countries. For some, their love for the Indian culture has made them shift their base to India.

The council has invited artistes from, Russia, Spain, Argentina, Poland, Iran and Kazakhasthan. Through this Festival, ICCR plans to showcase the intrest with which the Indian classical dances are being learnt and taught abroad by foriegn nationals. The Festival has showcased a rich variety of Dance forms from the Indian Classical Dance heritage ranging from Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Kathak and Kathakali
