One year ago today, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had their first-ever summit on the southern side of the inter-Korean border village of Panmunjeom.
Marking the anniversary, North Korea released a memorandum on Saturday, criticizing Washington for interrupting the improvement of inter-Korean ties.
The North's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country urged Seoul to ignore pressure from Washington and proceed with improving inter-Korean cooperation.
It blamed the U.S. for pressuring Seoul to slow down and put inter-Korean ties behind Seoul-Washington relations,.. and for trying to force inter-Korean relations to be subordinate to Washington's sanctions against the regime.
The memorandum also demanded an active gesture for peace from South Korea claiming that the situation on the Korean peninsula could return to what it calls a "grave security condition".
