Tex Williams is best known for his talking blues vocals; and western swing style. His biggest hit was the novelty song, "Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette)", which held the number one position on the Billboard charts for six weeks in 1947.

'Bottom of a Mountain' was released in 1966 and reached #18 in the US country charts.
