Hi, I’m Jensen with Ergonomic Office Designs and today we’re going to do a product review of the Humanscale Freedom Chair. You know, when I first received this chair one of the first impressions I had, even before I sat in it, was, “Wow, what a good looking chair.” This chair has the polished aluminum frame. You do have your choice of three options when ordering the frame: there’s a graphite option, a titanium option and the polished aluminum option as you see here. You know one of the things that we’re going to look for when shopping for a good ergonomic chair is looking at the adjustability components of that chair, and the Humanscale Freedom is really packed with a lot of adjustability. First I’m going to start with this headrest so you can see how that goes up and down. There’s a backrest as well. There’s a lever back here which influences where you can put that backrest. And of course we have a seat lever here, that’s the height adjustment that’s going to bring the chair up or down depending on how tall you are.
I’m going to go ahead and have a seat in this chair, get this back down to a height that’s comfortable for me. So just to talk a little bit about the arm rests, these are height adjustable armrests. As I turn to the side you can see how they look so they do go up, they do go down. You can see how easy the action is there to make that adjustment, part of the allure in terms of that adjustability. How I bring the armrest down is I simply pull on the end of armrest to be disengaged and that allows me to bring it up and bring it down. And to bring it up I just raise it with my hands, and wherever I leave my hands is where it will stay. So that’s a pretty good feature in terms of the armrest adjustability. There’s also the armrest pivot that I wanted to show you. I’m actually pivoting the armrests in and out as you can see, and that’s going to influence where your forearms rest as you put your hands in front of the keyboard. That is available with the advanced armrests. These are the advanced armrests as you can see here. There are also standard armrests which don’t have that linear pivot, but you still retain the up and down adjustability of the armrests even with the standard armrests just so you know that.
