Physical disability proved no barrier for this teacher in Nigeria who keeps on inspiring younger generations.
Showunmi Michael Thompson was only two-years-old when he started to suffer from Acute Flaccid Paralysis, a condition that affects the mobility of his legs.
He graduated with an upper second class honours degree in Chemical Engineering and currently works as a secondary school teacher with the "aim of helping kids achieve their goals in life."
Footage shows Thompson standing on crutches as he writes on a blackboard in front of children at D’OMEGA secondary school in Alakuko, Lagos on May 6.
Thompson told Newsflare: ''I walk with the aid of crutches but that will not stop my dreams of impacting lives and imparting knowledge into people throughout the world.
''My mother has been my source of strength. She sent me to university with the money she made from grinding pepper and borrowing money from one place and the other.
''The toughness I have today is due to her training. I owe her a lot.''
