In “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” Chance Perdomo plays Sabrina’s older cousin Ambrose, a wise, pansexual Warlock with a rebellious past. If given the opportunity to step into another character’s shoes, he said he would step into Sabrina’s, because she has an air of vanity and privilege that adds interest to her character.
“I like seeing character hubris—of course you need character hubris otherwise you’re not going to be able to develop an ark— and see what that world is like in her head…”
In the second part of the Netflix of the Netflix series, the character formerly known as Susie identifies as Theo, a transgender boy. He is one of the many characters, like Ambrose, that add depth and representation to the series.
“The show touches on existential nature, the sense of identity, who am I, first and foremost. And under that you have all of these socio political branches, whether it be race, whether it be sexual orientation, or gender identification, or it be politics, or it be religion. They all come under the umbrella term of identity” Perdomo explained. “It adds relatability to the fact that, no matter where you are in the world, you’re able to relate to these characters.”
