Mario Andretti is considered one of the best drivers in the history of motorsport. The American was able to quickly adapt to different specialties and managed to win in Formula 1, Resistencia, NASCAR and Indycar, among other races. One of the most important achievements of his career was the victory in the 1969 Indianapolis 500, where the resistance and reliability of the Firestone tires played a crucial role: Mario had to complete the race without changing his right rear tire because of a problem mechanic at his second stop.
