Nicola Yoon's popular Young Adult novel from 2015, Everything, Everything, is getting a big screen adaptation later this year, with Stella Meghie (Jean of the Joneses) behind the camera and J. Mills Goodloe penning the screenplay.
The story follows 18-year-old Madeline Whittier, who has an obscure condition called severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) - known in laymen terms as "bubble baby disease". Basically, she's allergic to everything, and can't leave her house, where she's cared for by her mother. But then she meets (and falls for) the boy next door, and a romantic-coming-of-age-drama is born.
The first trailer for the adaptation has just landed, which sees Amandla Stenberg (Rue in The Hunger Games) in the lead role, opposite Nick Robinson (Jurassic World, The 5th Wave).
Everything, Everything releases in Australian cinemas on May 18, 2017.
