Are Caused by Poor Diet Diet has more of an impact on cancer risk than we
previously thought. In 2015, 80,110 cancer cases among adults aged 20 and over were caused by poor diet, the JNCI Cancer Spectrum study reports. The study evaluated low intake of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and dairy products and a high intake of processed meats, red meats and soda. Dr. Fang Fang Zhang, Study author, via CNN Colon and rectal cancers had the highest percentage of diet-related cases at 38.3%. According to Dr. Zhang, "diet is among the few modifiable risk factors for cancer prevention."
