Amazon Launches One-Day
Shipping for Prime Members In response to increased competition
from other retailers, Amazon has
announced free next-day delivery. The offer is available from “coast to coast”
across the United States to all Prime members. It requires no minimum
purchase and is available for
more than 10 million products. Amazon, via statement The company first announced their $800 million
one-day delivery plan back in April 2019. Their U.S. shipping network is now made up
of more than 100 fulfillment centers, 100
delivery stations and a fleet of cargo planes. Its competitor, Walmart, announced their next-day
delivery service to 75% of the U.S. in May 2019. Walmart’s move utilizes its own
network of fulfillment centers as well
as their 4,700 stores across the U.S.
