$128 Million Contract Extension The four-year extension includes $107.9 million guaranteed. The Philadelphia quarterback's total deal is now
six years and can extend to a max of $170 million. The Eagles have been outspoken about wanting
to lock Wentz into a large contract. Howie Roseman, Philadelphia's EVP of football
operations, said in March that "having Carson
here long-term is our goal." Wentz posted a video on his Twitter account
to show his reaction to the new deal. Carson Wentz, via Twitter Wentz was the No. 2 overall pick
in the 2016 NFL draft. The quarterback has put up big numbers
but has struggled to stay healthy over
his three-year career. Wentz tore his ACL in 2017 and missed Philadelphia's final three regular season games and their postseason run to a Super Bowl victory
over the New England Patriots. Wentz's backup and Super Bowl LII MVP,
Nick Foles, signed a contract with the
Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason.
