In a show of solidarity with protesters in Hong Kong, a group of about 50 Malaysians rallied in Kuala Lumpur today against the region's proposed extradition law with mainland China.
However, police barred protesters from marching towards the city centre.
Protesters gathered outside the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) from 2.45pm, dressed in black and carrying placards that read "Solidarity with Hong Kong" and "Anti-extradition law."
After being blocked from marching, the crowd staged a silent protest by sitting on the road in front of KLSCAH.
