Thousands of people took to the streets of Bogota to take part in the city’s annual Pride march on Sunday (June 30).
According to the English-language non-profit website Colombia Reports, 465 members of Colombia’s LGBT community were murdered between 2013 and 2018, citing LGBT rights organization Colombia Diversa. At least 148 of these murders were labeled hate crimes by the authorities.
This year marks 50 years since the events in the Stonewall Inn in New York City, which sparked the birth of Pride.
