Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore is dead. Mr Collymore died at his home in Nairobi.

He has died at the age of 61 and is said to have died from complications arising Myeloid leukaemia.

Myeloid leukaemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow with excess immature white blood cells.

He is survived by his wife, Wambui Kamiru, who he married in a lavish but lowkey ceremony in 2016 and four children.
