South Korea has seen the steepest decline in exports in the first four months of this year, among the world's ten biggest exporting countries.
That's according to the World Trade Organisation.
It said Korea recorded 181 billion U.S. dollars in outbound shipments between January and April,... a six-point-nine percent drop compared to 2018.
That's the largest rate of decline after Japan and Germany, which saw a 5-point-six percent and six-point-four percent drop respectively.
Other major exporters including the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Italy also experienced negative growth this year.
Only the United States and China saw export figures increase,... by zero-point-five percent and zero-point-two percent respectively.
Experts attribute the global slowdown to trade tensions between the G2 economies,... and warn Korea and Japan's ongoing trade spat could exacerbate the situation.
