South Korea's presidential office says national security advisor Chung Eui-yong will be meeting with his U.S. counterpart John Bolton on Wednesday in Seoul
The presidential spokesperson said Sunday that Chung and Bolton will discuss a range of issues, including the Korean Peninsula peace process as well as ways to ramp up bilateral cooperation.
Bolton will also meet with South Korea's defense minister.
The U.S. official will stop in Tokyo before he gets to Seoul on Tuesday, so watchers say he may try and help resolve the tensions between South Korea and Japan, which are both America's allies.
Meanwhile, a White House spokesperson said via Twitter that Bolton is heading to Asia continue conversations with critical allies and friends.
