Whether you get it fresh from the bakery or the supermarket shelf, it seems that most types of bread don't last long and have already turned to rock by the next day. If you don't feel like breaking your teeth or throwing (once) good food away, there's another way to give your stale bread a new lease on life. So go on – transform your leftover bread into a tasty, fried treat that's big enough to feed the entire family.

You'll Need:

- 1.5 lb of day-old bread
- 2 eggs
- salt and pepper
- 2/3 cup grated parmesan
- 1 1/4 cups heated milk
- 1/4 cup olive oil, plus some oil for frying
- 3 slices of cooked ham
- 10 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 mozzarella ball, cut into slices

Here's How:

1. Cut the white bread into small cubes and slide them into a large bowl.

2. Now add the eggs, 1/3 of a cup of parmesan, and the milk. After seasoning with salt and pepper, knead the ingredients into a dough.

3. Take half of the dough mix and press it down flat onto a hot pan containing some olive oil so that the entire surface of the pan is covered.

4. Lay slices of ham on top before adding the cherry tomatoes, oregano, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and the remaining 1/3 cup of parmesan. Then lay the mozzarella slices on top and close the dumpling by pressing the rest of the dough mixture onto the filling. Once this is done, the underside of the dumpling will already be fried.

5. To flip the dumpling, cover the pan with a large plate and turn the pan over. The dumpling is now sitting on the plate and can be slid back into the pan to fry the other side.

6. Congratulations! Like a new parent, you can look at your creation and proudly say: "I made that!"
