Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the government had given a condition to Lynas that they had to have a plan to deal with the radioactive waste produced by the company.
He said the government was waiting for Lynas to tell them their plans on dealing with the waste and whether they found a place they can deposit the waste or not.
He said this in response to a question on whether they would allow the waste from Lynas to remain in Malaysia and ask the company to build a plant to dispose of the waste instead of exporting it out.
