'13 Reasons Why' Renewed for
Fourth and Final Season on Netflix.
The drama's third season is set to
drop on the streamer August 23.
Production on season four is
already underway, but the
episode count is unknown.
Throughout its first three go-arounds,
there have been 13 episodes
of the program.
Netflix's decision to end the show comes
soon after it removed a controversial
suicide scene from the first season.
The focus of the entire show had been that of a teenage girl taking her own life, leading to controversy.
Backlash has also been increased by the release of
a study that links the popularity of '13 Reason Why'
to the increase of teen suicides in the U.S.
A release date for the final season of the show
has not yet been revealed.
