Farmers race against each powering their tractors through paddy fields at a colourful festival.
The annual rice planting festival celebrating Mother's Day took place in Sukhothai, northern Thailand on Monday (August 12) afternoon.
The high-octane race was organised to boost attendance and encourage youngsters to become more interested in agriculture.
Fortunately, the idea was successful and turned the rice planting festival into the highlight of the region's celebrations.
Sukhothai mayor Mitree Tritilanunt, 58, took part in the races and warded the trophy to the winner at the end of the event.
He said: "The race was a great idea, so many people came to enjoy the race. We can teach the young people all about farming culture.''
