Designer Antonio Vietri, from the northern Italian city of Turin, showcased the world's first 24-carat gold shoes, Wednesday.
The artisan designed the line of gold-woven moccasins himself, under his label 'Gold Shoes'.
The shoes are custom-fit, with high-tech 3D scanners ensuring that the shoes are perfectly made to measure. After the patterns are measured, they are cut and sewn by hand, and a special weave made from gold and platinum strips are inserted into the shoe's upper.
The shoes are ready to be delivered within 72 hours. "We will reach him wherever he is", Vietri said, adding that they can even be delivered by helicopter.
The 'Gold Shoes' moccasins are available in blue and black, and retail at €25,000 ($26,666).
