MANILA - Sen. Grace Poe Llamanzares on Tuesday said she sees no need for her to seek higher office in the 2016 election despite getting the most number of votes in this year's senatorial polls. Speaking to ANC's Headstart, Poe said she is still fully concentrated on her work in the Senate four months after the election. "Ngayon lang nga, pinapasa pa lang natin ang [freedom of information] bill...Marami pang kailangang gawin at marami pang magagaling na pwedeng tumakbo," she said. Poe said it is traditional that the top-ranking candidates in a senatorial election are considered as possible contenders for higher office. She, however, pointed out that she was not even ranked among the top contenders before the start of the official campaign period. "Masaya na nga ako na nandito ako. Let me enjoy this first and let me do my job here first. I can't really say that I planned for anything," she said. She also noted that her electoral victory was justice for her late father, actor Fernando Poe Jr., who died after losing in the 2004 presidential polls. "I got already justice for my dad. It's almost proof that people really supported him. With this overwhelming number of votes, I couldn't have done it without that. I've already proved a point here. If I do my job in the Senate, I can further give honor to his name. I don't really have to seek higher office," she said. ANC Headstart, September 10, 2013
