MANILA, Philippines – Rafael Nadal failed to reach a final for only the second time this season after being blown off the court by Argentine Juan Martin del Potro at the Shanghai Masters. Nadal, one of the fastest athletes on the tour, found himself outpaced after a breathtaking semi-final display from Del Potro. Del Potro barely gave Nadal a chance as he raced to a 4-0 lead in the first set before bagging it with a scorching ace. And in the second set, Nadal was merely chasing shadows as Del Potro produced one of the best performances of his career. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic continued his love affair with the hard courts in China as he brushed aside Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to reach the final of the Shanghai Masters. The defending champion and top seed stretched his unbeaten run in China to 19 matches after he overcame Tsonga to set up a Sunday final against Del Potro. -- News Now, ANC, October 13, 2013
