MANILA -- At least 20 people died after a magnitude 7.2 quake rocked parts of Visayas and Mindanao Tuesday morning. Fifteen of the fatalities were from Cebu, four in Bohol and one from Siquijor. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. The quake brought massive damage to properties, particularly in Cebu and Bohol. The cost of damage has yet to be determined. Meanwhile, the Health department has declared a red alert in both provinces as it anticipates a significant number of casualties. The DOH said cracks were discovered in six hospitals but they are still operational. President Aquino has ordered all national agencies to coordinate with local government units for relief efforts.
