MANILA -- For a brief moment, Filipinos in Visayas may have forgotten the tragedy left by super typhoon Yolanda as they watched boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao dominate American fighter Brandon Rios in Macau on Sunday. Over at the Tacloban Astrodome that served as a relief area for the survivors of the super typhoon, Filipinos waved the Philippine flag as Pacquiao outpunched Rios throughout the 12-round fight. Even before the announcer declared Pacquiao the winner, the people there already knew who won. Pacquiao earlier offered the fight to his countrymen. In an interview after winning, Pacquiao said he was sure “they’re so happy right now,” and even gave a shout-out: “For those affected by the typhoon, I will see you there.” “We have a job to do in the ring but after the fight, we're all brothers and sisters," he said. – With a report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
