MANILA - Twenty-six candidates competed in the Ms. Gay Quiapo 2014 pageant in barangay 306 zone 30 in Manila. Placed prominently next to the stage was a replica of the Black Nazarene, whose feast day will be commemorated on Thursday. Archbishop emeritus Oscar Cruz said in an interview by ABS-CBN News that he does not feel that the pageant was a sign of disrespect to the Nazarene.
