In mixed martial arts, Jon “Bones” Jones defeated Glover Teixeira to retain his light heavyweight crown in the main event of UFC 172. Jones maximized his reach advantage over the challenger, and bullied Teixeira on the fence. Jones’ offense was also spot on during the bout, as he landed several clean shots to the head and caused Teixeira’s mouthpiece to fall off numerous times. In the end, Jones’ lead was simply too much as he cruised to the end of the fifth round.
