US President Barack Obama arrived Monday in the Philippines for a 2-day state visit. Air Force One touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 1:30 p.m. as scheduled. Obama was welcomed by a contingent from the Aquino government, including Vice President Jejomar Binay, Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, and Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario. US Ambassador Philip Goldberg and Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Cuisia Jr. were also present. He will be going to Malacanang to meet with President Aquino.
